Woodmansey, Doncaster, "Patent Union Chronometer", 11 jewels, key wind and set, gilt half plate movement with Robin escapement variant, cut bimetallic balance with gold timing screws, and fusee, in a silver, hinged back and bezel, reeded edge open face case and Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, black umbrella hands, serial #2471, 54mm, c1870.
CONDITION: CASE: Nicely recased; Minor dings; Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Crystal with minor scratches. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel; Seconds bit loose. HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Balance cock foot with pin pricks; Regulator assembly with minor oxide, pitting. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Hairspring bent at stud, needs correction.
